At a Mundoolun auction over a decade ago, Terence Demar and his parents were welcomed by a dozen pelicans swimming in the lake behind the property they were considering.
That’s when they knew 55-57 Lady Penrhyn Court was the right home for them.
But in recent years, Mr Demar said they hadn’t seen the birds—until they put the home back on the market.
“As soon as we put this place on the market, we saw one,” Mr Demar said
“That has not been making it easier for mum – she doesn’t want to sell.”
The 4000sqm property boasts a four-bedroom, two-bathroom home with unobstructed views of the lake and surrounding hilly landscape.
With a significantly sized deck overlooking the lake, which can be accessed through a gate on the property, Mr Demar said it was hard to beat a morning sitting outside.
“The big deck, the lake and the view – and nobody can build behind you, from the lake and up to the road,” he said.
“We’ve had a few parties on the deck and the kids like to play out the back, and the little fella has a quadbike he takes out there.”
He said the home was a perfect fit for young families whose children want to play outside more.
“Or even a retired couple who wants to be able to get up and do a little bit of gardening and mowing outside, and then sit outside and spend all day looking out at the view.”
Mr Demar said Mundoolun was a nice area with lots of nature and good people.
“It’s very quiet, and you get all the kangaroos coming down the back,” he said
“One of the neighbours was riding their horse down by the lake – me and mum looked down and saw two horses coming past.
“The neighbours are very good.
“John’s been there for four or five years, and David on the other side – he’s got two kids and wife – he just bought and they’re really nice people.”
Views of lake can be seen from every family room, including the kitchen.
The lounge room features a picturesque bay window.
Two of these windows have been installed in the master bedroom, which offers a large walk-in robe and an ensuite, to soak in the right amount of light.
The nearly 9m long garage has plenty of bench and storage space, along with a side sliding door for easier access.
Mr Demar and his family are moving to Beaudesert and they would miss the home.
